Only used if it lets the shipment fit on fewer pallets - otherwise boxes stay within the pallet's edges as usual.

Leave 0 for no limit. Set it to whatever will actually move the pallet - a manual pallet jack is typically around 4,500 lb, and carriers often cap a single pallet well below that.

Heuristic packing: fills the base layer across box types before adding height, boxes lie on a side only if that saves a pallet (unless locked upright), every box gets at least 60% of its base supported by the pallet or another box, and up to 10 pallets are used if the shipment spills over. Weight limits, crushability and interlocking are not modeled — verify against your carrier's load requirements.
